James M. Corley, Sr.

James M. Corley Sr., 80, 2319 Vance, died this morning in a Little Rock hospital. He was a retired electric welder and boiler maker for the Rock Island Railroad. He was a member of the First Baptist Church, the Pioneer Sunday School Class, and a member of the Masonic Lodge at El Dorado.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Mary Belle Baggett Corley; a son, Sgt. James M. Corley Jr. of Little Rock; two daughters, Mrs. Marie Harris of Festus, Mo., and Mrs. Frances Want of Pine Bluff; three brothers, Jesse Corley of Winnfield, La., Clarence Corley of Lake Charles, La., and Elijah Corley of Oakdale, La.; four sisters, Mrs. Indie Gates and Mrs. Maude Sanderson of Oakdale, Mrs. Ida Scarborough of Lake Charles and Mrs. Frances Odon of Houma, La.; six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Funeral for James M. Corley Sr., 80, 2319 Vance, who died Monday, will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in Drummond Funeral Home by Dr. Paul Roberts and Rev. Dawson King. Pallbearers will be Vance Beatty, W. D. Lively, M. A. Daniels, E. H. Smith, Paul Everts and R. S. Harrison. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery at Fordyce.

Brother of Jesse Corley Dies in Ark.

Jim Corley, 79, former resident of Winnfield, died in Little Rock, Ark., Tuesday [sic Monday] of this week. He was the brother of Jesse Corley of Winnfield.

Last rites were conducted Wednesday morning in Fordyce, Ark. Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Corley attended the last rites.

Survivors included his wife and children; two other brothers besides Jessie, and four sisters.
