James Merlee Savell

BRANDON -- James Merlee Savell, 68, machinist, died Friday at his home. A memorial service was held Sunday at Silver City Baptist Church. Mortimer Funeral Home of Belzoni has charge. He was a member of Eastside Baptist Church and a World War II Marine veteran.

Mr. Savell, the husband of Gilma Tobone Savell, also leaves two stepdaughters, Rosemary Eversdyke of Jacksonville, Ark., and Beverly Holloman of Washington state; three stepsons, John Gonzolas of Miami, Charles Camp of Tucson, Ariz., and Johnny Earl Camp of Little Rock; his mother, Mary Ezell Savell of Silver City; seven sisters, Barbara Brey and Maxine Herring, both of Dickinson, Texas, Billie Jean Savell of Pasadena, Texas, Jacqueline Walters of Petal, Jo Anne Hawkins of Belzoni, Irene Jones of Alvin, Texas, and Kay Savell of Silver City, and seven grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any memorials be sent to the Hospice of Central Mississippi in Jackson.
