James Milton Malone
SHREVEPORT, LA - Services for James Milton Malone, 77, will be held 1 p.m., Monday, Aug. 3, 1998 at the Wellman Funeral Home chapel. Officiating will be Rev. Rex Blankenship and Rev. Jeff Segnar. Burial will follow at Centuries Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m., Sunday, August 2, 1998 at the funeral home.
Mr. Malone passed away on Thursday, July 30, 1998 at Highland Hospital following a brief illness.
He was born in Alexandria, LA and had resided in Shreveport for the last 32 years.
Mr. Malone was a salesman for Beall-Ladymon, a veteran of the US Navy, having served during World War II, member of the American Legion. James was a loving husband, and a devoted father and grandfather. Known to friends and neighbors, a very kind and gentle man. He was an avid gardener and will be remembered for his continuous visits to the church for coffee and a game of Dominoes.
Mr. Malone is survived by his wife of 53 years, Ruby Malone of Shreveport, LA; two daughters, Ginger Young and husband, David of Belton, TX and Susan Malone of Dallas, TX; two grandchildren, Stacey Lopez and Paul Young; three brothers, Kermit and wife, Rosemary of Montgomery, AL, Grady Malone and wife, Marion of Arlington, VA, and Curtis and wife, Mary of ValDosta, GA; one sister, Maxine Myers and husband, Bud of Denton, TX and a host of other relatives and friends.
Mr. Malone also enjoyed the love of his canine companion, “Sam”.
Pallbearers will be Billy Davis, Vernon Adams, Sidney Spiegel, Wade Chotes, Bobby Yeager and Larry Hooper.
