CULLEN -- Funeral services for James Monroe Harper, 79, of Cullen will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday in the First Baptist Church in Springhill with the Rev. Lynn Mayhall officiating, assisted by the Rev. Harry Attebery. Burial will be in the Blockers Chapel Cemetery under the direction of the Bailey Mortuary of Springhill.
Mr. Harper died Monday in a Shreveport hospital following a long illness.
Survivors include his widow; three daughters, Mrs. Kathleen Wilson of Waskom, Tex., Mrs. Frances Strickland of Springhill and Mrs. Diane Morgan of Bossier City; three sons, James Howard Harper of Dallas, Tex., Robert E. Cook of Kingsville, Tex., and Earl E. Cook of Bossier City; a sister, Mrs. Lovie May Carley of South Lake Tahoe, Calif.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
