AGED CITIZEN DIES.

J. M. Whittington Will Be Buried at Gloster Today.

Gloster, Miss., March 22. -- J. M. Whittington, 79 years old, died at his home here today after a long illness. He was a native of Amite county, a resident of Gloster since the establishment of the town and was one of its leading citizens, being engaged in the mercantile business for many years.

He leaves two sons, L. N. Whittington of Gloster and J. M. Jr. of Itta Bena, and two daughters, Mrs. J. A. Naul of Brookhaven and Mrs. E. Gates of Memphis.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2:30 o'clock from the Baptist church.
