James Murry Sanders
February 4, 1935 - May 3, 2016

Mr. James Murry Sanders, age 81 of Tullos, Louisiana passed away on Tuesday, May 3, 2016.

Born Monday, February 4, 1935 in Tullos, Louisiana, he was retired from Dresser Industries after 32 years as a machinist and inspector. He was an active member of Crossroads Baptist Church, where he served as Sunday School director, teacher and a member of the choir. He also served as a deacon of the church.

Mr. Sanders was preceded in death by his Parents, Dennis C. and Donie Mercer Sanders; Sisters, Alma Rea Jordan, Ethel Lea Varret and Virgie Newchurch.

Those left to cherish his memory include his Wife of 53 years, Letha Cox Sanders, Tullos; Daughters, Theresa Fletcher (Robert), Winnfield and Dianna Bratton (Tim), Urania; Grandchildren, April Fletcher, Adam Fletcher (Stephanie), Christie Valentine (Mike), Timmy Bratton and Shelby Swinnea (Josh); Great Grandchildren, Savannah, Justin and Derek Valentine, Natalie, Raegen and Braycin Swinnea, Ian and Issac Fletcher, Joseph Fletcher, Logan and Alan Carpenter; Brother, Dennis C. Sanders, Jr., Jennings, LA.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 5, 2016, at Crossroads Baptist Church, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and on Friday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until time of services.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, May 6, 2016 at Crossroads Baptist Church with Rev. Bruce Weatherford, Rev. Norris Curry and Rev. Denver McBroom officiating. Interment will follow in Magnolia Cemetery, in Tullos under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield.

Serving the family as pallbearers will be Kenny Cox, Bill Thompson, Mike Valentine, Josh Swinnea, Roger Verret, Adam Fletcher. Honorary pallbearers will be Alex Thompson, Ronnie Newchurch and Colvin Smith.
