JAMES NEWTON REEVES

MER ROUGE, Feb. 12 (Special) -- Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Horse Shoe Church, near Mer Rouge, for James Newton Reeves, 65, of Mer Rouge, who died Saturday morning in a Monroe hospital.

Services will be conducted by Rev. A. A. Johnson and Rev. James W. Carraway.

Interment will be in the Mer Rouge cemetery.

The body will lie in state at the Hall Funeral Chapel, Monroe, until 10:30 a.m. Sunday, when it will be taken to the church, where it will lie in state until time for services.

Reeves is survived by his wife; two [step] daughters, Mrs. R. S. Freeman, Monroe, and Mrs. W. M. McCowin, Mer Rouge; two brothers, Jessie Reeves, Bastrop, and John Reeves, Oak Grove; three sisters, Mrs. Susie Redden, Bastrop; Mrs. Lillie Barnes, Virginia, and Mrs. Dollie Griffin, Little Rock, Ark., and four grandchildren.

Pallbearers will include W. C. Blackard, J. C. Blackard, Theodore Barham, Anthony Thomas, Irby Vosburg, and Emmit Colson.
