James Osborne Payne

JONESBORO -- Services for James Osborne Payne will be at 2 p.m. today in First Baptist Church Chapel with Dr. Herb Dickerson and the Rev. John Harriss officiating. Burial will be in New Hope Cemetery, Dodson, under directions of Southern.

Payne, 82, of Pineville died Wednesday in Rapides General Hospital, Alexandria.

Survivors include his wife, Effie Black of Pineville; three daughters, Elizabeth Ann Weaver of Pineville, Sharon Ruth Young of Jackson and Deborah Lynn Craighead of Fort Collins, Colo.; five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Friends may call until 1 p.m. today in the funeral home.
