James P. McCuller

SHREVEPORT, LA -- Services honoring the life of James P. McCuller will be held Tuesday, August 18, 2009, 11:30 am, at Rose-Neath Southside Chapel. Officiating will be Reverend Joe Wiggins, chaplain of LifeCare. Interment will follow in Weldon Baptist Cemetery, near Bernice, LA.

The family will visit with friends at the funeral home, Monday, August 17, 2009 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.

Mr. McCuller was born September 12, 1931 in Bernice, LA to Lawton and Edna McCuller. He left this earth to enter his heavenly home, August 15, 2009, as a result of a major stroke.

James served his country in the USAF during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, Kingston Road Baptist Church and the Kepler Creek Hunting Club. James loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing and animals. Most of all, he loved his family, as they loved him.

Preceding James in death are his parents and sister, Alta Mae Jones. Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 57 yrs, Frances McClung McCuller and daughter, Debra “Deb” McCuller; brother-in-law Kenneth McClung and wife, Betty, brother-in-law, Milton Jones; niece, Jane Griffin and husband, Tommie; nephews, Mitch Jones and wife, Roxanne, Michael McClung and wife, Elizabeth, Marcus McClung and wife, Tammy; numerous great-nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Ervin Bates, Jack Guess, Michael McClung, Kenneth McClung, Rodney Walton and Mike Dawson. Honorary pallbearers, Mitch Jones, Marcus McClung and Royce Lee.

The family extends special thanks to Dr. Timothy Nicholls, SFD # 17, and to the loving staff of LifeCare, Linwood and Willis-Knighton Hospitals.
