J. R. Spradley Rites Tuesday

Funeral services were held at Antioch Baptist Church at 2:30 p.m. for James Ransom Spradley, 59, who died at Beaumont Monday.

A native of Panola County, he was born March 16, 1899.

The Rev. Marvin Harrison was the officiating minister and burial was in the Antioch Cemetery. Pallbearers for the service were his nephews and included Buddy Haney, Earl Dean and Ravenal Capps, Jack Jennings, and Larry and John Elders. Funeral arrangements were in charge of the Hawthorn Funeral Home.

Surviving are two brothers, Harry Spradley of Beaumont and Marlin Spradley of Marshall, and two sisters, Mrs. Gladys Elder of Beaumont and Mrs. Leona Rodgers of Tatum.
