James R. “Buster” Marsalis
May 7, 1919 - June 10, 2013

James Rayford “Buster” Marsalis, 94, of Saucier, died Monday, June 10, 2013 in Saucier.

He was born May 7, 1919 in Vicksburg. He was a member of Redbone Methodist Church in Warren County. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army and a member of the VFW and a Mason of Scottish Rites. Mr. Marsalis worked as a master mechanic and Roundhouse supervisor at the ICRR in Vicksburg for 42 years.

He was preceded in death by his parents, E. L. and Meda Marsalis; a sister, Mildred Marsalis; his brothers, Lowell Marsalis and Dr. L. Wilton Marsalis; and his wife of 65 years, Lois L. “Tess” Marsalis.

He is survived by one daughter, Judy M. Clark (Bob); two grandsons, Jon Clark and Jeff Clark (Mandy); three great-grandchildren, Katelyn Clark, Grayson Clark, and Coleman Clark; and several nieces and nephews.

There will be a graveside service Friday, June 14, 2013 at 12:00 noon at Hermanville Cemetery in Claiborne County.

The family prefers memorials to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or Joppa Shrine Center, 13280 New Highway 67, Biloxi, MS 39532.
