James Robert Polk

Funeral services for James Robert Polk, 26, of Fort Necessity were held Tuesday, Dec. 9, 2008 at Boeuf River Baptist Church in Liddieville with Rev. Kevin Bates, Rev. Joe Stroud, and Rev. Jimmy Harper officiating. Interment followed at Ogden Cemetery in Liddieville under the direction of Gill First National Funeral Home of Winnsboro.

Mr. Polk was born Aug. 24, 1982 in Monroe, to James Dewey Polk and Barbara Ann Franks Shacklett and he passed from this life on Saturday, Dec. 6, 2008.

He was a heavy equipment operator who loved hunting, fishing, and mudhogging. He was a great father. He loved his job, the outdoors, and life in general. He was preceded in death by his grandpa: Dewey Polk.

He is survived by his wife Darby and their son Devin; father: James Dewey Polk of Winnsboro; mother: Barbara Shacklett of Tyler, Texas; brother: Mitchell Johns of West Monroe; sister: Keisha Polk of Winnsboro; grandma: Beverly Polk of Winnsboro; grandparents: Rosie and C.O. Franks of Monroe.

Pallbearers were Mitchell Johns, Josh Wiggins, Kevin Parks, Ben Denny, Logan Bennett, and Steven Smith.
