James Edward Sikes
James Edward Sikes, age 74, of Winnfield, died Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2003 at Christus Schumpert Medical Center in Shreveport.
Mr. Sikes was retired from BellSouth after 41 years. He was also a member of First Baptist Church, where he attended the Sanctuary Sunday school class. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict and a member of the Winn Genealogy Club.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Jean Mercer Sikes of Winnfield; one son, Jim Sikes and wife Valarie of Katy, Texas; two grandsons, Matthew and Patrick of Katy, Texas; and a host of nieces and nephews.
Services are under the direction of Southern Funeral Homes, Inc., 202 E. Lafayette St., Winnfield, La., where the family will receive friends from 8:30 a.m. until noon Friday.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First Baptist Church with Rev. Lindsey Burns officiating. Interment will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery, Winnfield.
Pallbearers will be Don Causey, Cranford Jordan, Lamar Tarver, Benny Smith, Dickie Heard and Delane Adams.
