James T. Crane

James T. (Jim) Crane, 88, died on Thursday in Georgia. Funeral services were held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 23 from the Good Hope Baptist Church. Rev. Leon Everett and Rev. Clifton Thornton were the officiating ministers. Interment was made in the Good Hope Cemetery.

Crane was born in Rankin County, on December 13, 1887. He lived in the Good Hope community, Route 1, Lake, until 1967. Since that time he and his wife had made their home in Forest Park, Georgia, with their oldest daughter.

He was a member and deacon of the Good Hope Baptist Church, and was District Deputy Grand Lecturer and Past Master Mason of the George D. Riley Lodge No. 605 of Lake.

Survivors include his wife, Virgie Crane; two sons, Charles Crane, Camden, Arkansas, and Melvin Crane, Baton Rouge, La.; five daughters, Mrs. Joe (Ouida) Liber, Forest Park, Ga., Mrs. Curtis (Grace) Stokes, Smyrna, Ga., Mrs. Jimmy (Doris) Liber, Robertsville, Ohio, Mrs. Ruth Cannon, Smyrna, Ga., and Mrs. Alton (Murriel) Harris, Milton, Florida; one sister, Mrs. Tressie Caulk, Pascagoula; and one brother, Cline Crane, Carrollton; and 11 grandchildren, and 9 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Mike Crane, Wilson Walters, Ron Cannobn, Al Liber, James Crane, and Bob Liber.

Ott & Lee Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
