James T. Watson

James T. Watson, 44, of Cypress, Texas, and formerly of Magnolia, died March 1, 2007, at his home.

A memorial service will be held in Smithdale at a later date. Beresford Funeral Home in Houston, Texas, is in charge of the cremation.

Mr. Watson was born Dec. 12, 1962, in New Orleans to Thomas ``Churchill'' and Louise Morgan Patridge Watson.

Though the past 15 years have been extremely difficult, his faith and love for the Lord grew even stronger after an accident in 1991 left him a quadriplegic. Although he resided in Texas since the accident, his desire to return to his beloved Amite County never left him. He was a compassionate person with a smile that could light up a room. He had a twinkle in his eyes that made everyone around him feel good. Mr. Watson loved the outdoors, car races, music and spending time with family and his many Internet friends. He was a member of Magnolia United Methodist Church.

He was preceded in death by his father; his step-father, James ``Jim'' Patridge; three grandparents, Opal T. Watson, and Ado and Nola Morgan; and two infant sisters, Teresa Lynn and Linda Diane Watson.

Survivors include his mother; a son, Joshua Thomas Watson; a sister and brother-in-law, Mickie and Earl Burris of Smithdale; a nephew, Chris Cook and his wife Bambi of Petal; a niece, Cody Burris of Smithdale and her fiancé Dan Caston of Liberty; a great-niece, Mary Ella Cook; an uncle and aunt, Ben and Cherry Morgan of Houston, Texas; very special friends, Anthony ``Duke,'' Sandy and Tommy Alves, all of Houston; and his many Internet buddies, who were his lifeline to the world.
