CLARKS -- Funeral services for James (Jim) McDaniel, 76, of Clarks will be in the Clarks Baptist Church at 4 p.m. today with the Rev. Jim Love officiating.
Burial will be in the Goodhope Cemetery near Kelly under the direction of Riser and Son Funeral Home of Columbia.
Mr. McDaniel died early Sunday morning enroute to a Monroe hospital after a brief illness.
A veteran of World War I, Mr. McDaniel was a retired employe of Swift Co. of Louisville, Ky.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Ether Gates McDaniel of Clarks; one stepdaughter, Mrs. Carl Cole of Wichita, Kan.; one stepson, Kindred Peppers of Ft. Campbell, Ky.; three brothers, Hugh McDaniel of Urania, Troy McDaniel of Kelly and Ausie McDaniel of California; six sisters, Mrs. Nancy Briggs and Mrs. Angie Steen, both of Kelly, Mrs. Mae Hays of Clarks, Mrs. Ethel Neal and Mrs. Gladys Davis, both of Olla, and Mrs. Vernice Curry of West Monroe; and two grandchildren.
Nephews will serve as pallbearers.
