James Thomas “Jim” Mott

MOTT James Thomas “Jim”, beloved father and grandfather, passed away in the afternoon on June 29, 2000.

He was born in Little Rock, AR on September 14, 1924. While attending Louisiana State University he was called to serve in the Air Force during WWII. Upon returning, he married Mary Elizabeth Keith, his loving wife of 49 years, who preceded him in death, February 15, 1999. He started his career with Pfizer Pharmaceutical and later built a successful medical supply company in Oklahoma. The business was acquired by Owens & Minor, Inc. in 1982 and he became an integral part of their continued success.

Jim is survived by his children, James T. Mott, Jr. and wife, Sue of Stillwater; Keith W. Mott and wife, Mary Dawn of Tulsa and twin sister, Kathy Mott Yates and her husband, Robert of Denison, TX and son, Steven M. Mott and wife, Jane of OKC; grandchildren, Shannon, Kalin, Emily, Blake and Aly. Additional survivors include his two brothers, Charles B. Mott, Jr. and Joe H. Mott of Little Rock and a sister, Frances Mott Fullerton of Conway, AR and among many, good friends, especially Bill and Martha Jo Jordon.

He is preceded in death by his parents Charles B. and Katie H. Mott.

He was a gracious gentleman who touched many lives and will be remembered for his sense of humor, kindness, and integrity. He was a longtime member of Westminster Presbyterian Church and a past President of Northwest Oklahoma City Rotary Club. His favorite times were spent at the lake or beach with family and friends-especially his grandchildren of whom he was so proud.

A Funeral Service will be held Monday, July 3rd at 1:00 P.M. at the Westminster Presbyterian Church Chapel. A Graveside service will be Wednesday, July 5th at 11:00 A.M. at the Forest Hill Cemetery in Little Rock, Arkansas.
