CRASH INJURY FATAL TO MAN

J. T. REID DIES AFTER SMASH-UP SATURDAY NEAR NEW MEXICO TOWN

Injuries received when his car overturned Saturday near Clayton, N. M., last night proved fatal to J. T. Reid, 52, head baker at the Amarillo Baking Company. He died at 11 o'clock at a local hospital.

The automobile of the accident victim struck a stretch of loose gravel on a newly constructed highway. Losing control of his machine, it plunged into a ditch and overturned three times.

He was brought to Amarillo Saturday night on a Fort Worth & Denver train accompanied by his step-daughter, Mrs. Dan Hibler, Alamosa, Colo.

The body is at Griggs Funeral Chapel, pending arrangements.

Besides the step-daughter, Mr. Reid is survived by his widow, Mrs. Julia Reid, 1401-B Fillmore Street, a son, Roy Reid, and a daughter, Miss Norma Reid, both of Amarillo; a step-son, W. S. Cherry, Amarillo; and four other step-daughters, Mrs. George Wilson, Santa Barbara, Calif., Mrs. L. E. Schneider, and Mrs. C. E. Riley, both of Amarillo, and Mrs. Art Collins, Borger.
