James T. Sawyer Funeral Service To Be Saturday
James Thomas Sawyer, of Millican passed away at the home of his son,
Albert P. Sawyer, 114 South Coulter Drive, this morning at 4:05 o'clock.
Born on November 1, 1874, in Brazos county, Mr. Sawyer was 74 years of age.
Funeral services will be held in the drawing room of the Bruce Funeral Home
on Saturday afternoon at 2:30 with Dr. Harry V. Rankin, pastor of the
First Methodist church officiating. Mr. Sawyer was a member of the
Methodist church of Millican. Interment will be in the Steep Hollow
cemetery with the Wellborn Masonic lodge in charge. The Alta Taylor
quartet will sing two numbers, ``Abide With Me'' and ``God Be With You
'Till We Meet Again.''
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. J. T. Sawyer of Millican, three sons,
A. P. Sawyer of Bryan, C. M. Sawyer of Beaumont, L. O. Sawyer of Houston;
one sister, Mrs. Sule McMillin of Los Angeles, Calif.; two brothers,
C. D. Sawyer of Beaumont and I. B. Sawyer of Houston. Six grandchildren
and one great-grandchild also survive.
Pallbearers will be chosen from members of the Adam Royder Masonic Lodge
of Wellborn.
