BASTROP (Special) -- Funeral services for James Thomas Smith, 85, of Oak Grove, were scheduled 10 a.m. today at Gay's Funeral Home chapel here with second funeral services to follow at 2:30 p.m. at the Old Union Baptist Church at Winnfield with the Rev. N. W. Asbell officiating.
Burial was scheduled in the Old Union Baptist Cemetery at Winnfield.
Mr. Smith was a native of Winn Parish but had lived most of his life in West Carroll Parish. He was a retired farmer.
Surviving are five sons, Howard Smith of Mer Rouge, J. T. Smith of Natchez, Miss., Dennis Smith and Denton Smith, both of Bastrop, Shelby Smith of North Little Rock, Ark.; two daughters, Mrs. Frances Horton of Oak Grove and Mrs. Verda Allen of Shreveport; a brother, Charlie Smith of Bastrop, nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
