JAMES NUGENT OF DRY PRONG DIED ON JAN. 27

James V. Nugent, 71, of Dry Prong died at 12:45 p.m., Thursday, January 27, in his residence. He was a retired carpenter.

Services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, January 29, in the chapel of Hixson Bros., Pineville, with Rev. Richard DeBusk, Rev. Harvey Webb and Rev. Jesse Smith officiating.Burial was in Liberty Chapel Cemetery at Williana.

Pallbearers were Paul Nugent, Jeffrey Nugent, Brent Roper, Wayne Welch, Gary Lincecum and Mike Nugent.

Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Para Lea Arender Nugent of Dry Prong, three sons, Marion L. Nugent of Dry Prong, Harold R. Nugent of Natchitoches and Billy W. Nugent of Bentley; one daughter Patsy Brown of Caldwell, Tex.; two brothers, W. W. Nugent of Alexandria and Lavelle Nugent of Dry Prong; four sisters, Mrs. Cora Slayter and Mrs. Bertha Futrell, both of Dry Prong, Mrs. Elbert Aymond and Mrs. D. M. McAdams, both of Shreveport, 10 grandchildren and two great-granchildren.
