James Weatherford

Services for James Weatherford will be at 11 a.m. Monday in the chapel of John Kramer & Son with the Rev. Wade Cummins officiating. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park, Pineville.

Weatherford, 79, of Pineville died Saturday in Rapides General Hospital.

He was a veteran of World War II and a member of General George Patton's 4th Armored Division. He was a charter member of the Normandy Beachhead Museum. He worked for the Missouri-Pacific Railroad for 28 years.

Survivors include his wife, Mattie P. Weatherford of Pineville; two sons, Robert Edward Weatherford of Houston, Texas, and Michael Allen Weatherford of Colorado Springs, Colo.; two brothers, Charlie Weatherford of Pineville and the Rev. Claude Weatherford of Cotton Valley; five sisters, Christine Collins of Channelview, Texas, Annie Thornhill of Ball, Lorine Thornhill of Pineville, Eva Edwards of Colfax and Betty Frye of Yuba City, Calif.; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Friends may call from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. today and from 8:30 a.m. until time of services Monday in the funeral home.
