Rev. James William Smith

SHREVEPORT - Services for Rev. James William Smith, 84, of Shreveport will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday December 30 at the Wellman Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Watson Franks, Dr. Floyd Davis III, and the Rev. C.V. Chance officiating. Burial with graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. at the Florien Cemetery in Florien, La.

Rev. Smith died Saturday December 27, 1986 at the Schumpter Medical Center following a brief illness. A native of Vernon Parish and had been a resident of Shreveport for the past 21 years. He was pastor of Camp Ground Baptist Church in Milam, Texas.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. J.W. Smith of Shreveport; two sons, James E. Smith of Shreveport, Jerry D. Smith of New Iberia, La.; one daughter, Ruby Malone of Shreveport; seven grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 5 p.m. Monday until Service time Tuesday at Wellman Funeral Home.
