He was preceded in death by his parents; wife: Dorris J. Causey Halford; and son: Billy Glennis.

On Aug. 16, 2012, James “Snake” Halford stopped singing “What A Day That Will Be” here on earth. He came face to face with Jesus. He would tell us now, if he could, about his new body, how he is breathing in God's air, about him walking and talking with all the Saints over there. He is not singing “I'll Fly Away” here on earth anymore because “He Saw the Light.”

Everyone has made the celebration of his home going so much easier to bear with your outpouring of love, cards, prayers, visits, donations, flowers and phone calls. His wishes were made for his home going and we thank Bro. Mike Morris, Bro. Kenny Wilson and Bro. Calvin Wactor for their services.

James “Snake” never met a stranger and it was so evident by each one that was present. Dr. Ben Yarbrough was not only his doctor, he was his friend and was always there for him. To the Franklin County Sheriff's Department, the First Responders, Percy Peeler, the Ambulance EMTs, Franklin County Memorial Hospital, staff of Franklin Funeral Home, Roger Causey, Virginia Ann Priest, Rusty Martin, the pallbearers and honorary pallbearers, many thanks.

Eddiceton Baptist Church and Middleton Creek Primitive Baptist Church did an outstanding job of ministering to all of us. Again, thanks so much. James “Snake” would want us to tell you all how much he loved you and also that “He Will Meet You In The Morning.”

Thanks and may God bless you all. Please keep us in your prayers.
