James William Simms
WISNER, La. -- Services for James William ``J.W.'' Simms, 73, of Wisner, who died Sunday, Dec. 12, 1999, at Franklin Medical Center in Winnsboro, will be held at 11 a.m. today at South Central Baptist Church with the Revs. Larry Eubanks and Virgil Harris officiating. Burial will be at the church's cemetery under the direction of Community Memorial Funeral Home in Winnsboro.
Mr. Simms was a native and resident of Franklin Parish. He retired after 35 years with International Paper's Natchez mill. He was a member of South Central Baptist Church and International Paper's Quarter Century Club and served in the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy W. Simms; three sons and their wives, Manley Simms Sr., James L. and Linda Simms and Eugene and Rhonda Simms, all of Wisner; two grandchildren, Ashley Simms and Manley Simms Jr. and wife Lynn; one great-grandchild, Triston Simms; two brothers, Glenn Simms and Dale Simms, both of Wisner; one sister, Eloise Hughes of Harrisonburg; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Talmadge Rogerts, Keith Ferrington, Gerald Hughes, Kevin Cureington, Billy Cureington and Todd Hughes.
Honorary pallbearers will be Ronnie Jennings and Robbie Simms.
