James W. Parker

BOSSIER CITY, LA - Services for James W. Parker will be 10 a.m. Friday, November 11, 2011 at the Pentecostal Church of Bossier City with Rev. Jerry Dean officiating, assisted by Rev. Shannon Stanley. Interment will follow at Hill Crest Memorial Cemetery, Haughton, LA. Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, November 10, 2011 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Bossier City.

J.W. was born on February 5, 1937 in Sikes, LA to James Alfred and Ella Elizabeth Parker. He entered into eternal rest on November 8, 2011 in Bossier City, LA. He was a member of the Pentecostal Church of Bossier City. He loved his family, his garden and his wife's cooking.

He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Billy Joe Parker. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary Jean Parker; sons, Dennis Lane and David Earl; daughter, Sylvia Jean and husband Kevin; granddaughter, Allison and husband Gary; grandson, Jacob Glenn; great-grandchildren, Jordyn and Savannah; sisters, Sue and husband Buddy, Lynn and husband Ray, Fran and husband Roger and numerous nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jacob Glenn, Tom Glenn, Gary Bragg III, Kevin Harrelson, Roy Darnell, Daniel Darnell, Tony Parker and Randall Harvill.

The family wishes to extend their appreciation to Dr. Allen Cox with Louisiana Family Practice, the Willlis-Knighton Heart Institute and Promise of Bossier ICU unit doctors and nurses.

He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
