CAMERON
James Wilson Cameron, 81, of Carpenter, formerly of Durham, passed away on January 25, 2007, at Wake Medical Center, Raleigh.
He was born March 15, 1925, in Hope Mills, N.C., to Iverson and Sudie Adkins Cameron.
He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving aboard the LST 47. He retired from Watts Hospital and the City of Durham.
He was a longtime train buff, often meeting with his ``train buddies'' to watch the trains. He was a jack-of-all-trades -- always willing to help anyone who needed his expertise.
He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be dearly missed by his extended family and friends.
Surviving are his loving wife of 60 years, Lillian McGhee Cameron; daughter, Brenda Merle Cameron of Oak Island, N.C.; sons, James Wilson Cameron II of Durham, Philip Garland Cameron and his wife, Carol, of Carpenter; and grandson, Michael Shane Brooks of Carpenter.
He is also survived by a sister, Dorothy Bunce of Godwin; and stepmother, Wilma Cameron of Stafford, Va.
His request was to be cremated and no service held.
The family will receive friends Sunday afternoon, January 28, 2007, at the home, 7225 Carpenter Fire Station Road, Cary, N.C. 27519.
