James W. Mott

Services for James W. Mott, 80, of Hebert were held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 24, 1995 from the chapel of Riser and Son Funeral Home in Columbia with Rev. M. C. Cady officiating. Interment followed in the Old Bethel Cemetery west of Clarks.

Mr. Mott, the son of the late James Daniel and Liddie Clark Mott, was born in Hebert on August 9, 1915 and died Sunday, October 22, 1995 at the St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe.

He was a retired farmer and rancher. He was a member of the Caldwell Parish School Board for 19 years where he served as president. He also was a member of the Caldwell Parish Police Jury for 20 years, having served as president. He was a mason and a member of the Hebert United Methodist Church.

Survivors include: his wife, Mrs. Ethel Gunn Mott of Hebert; his sons, James Glen Mott of Columbia and Gary Mott of Hebert; his daughter, Ginger Mott Haynes of Hebert; his sisters, Corrine Mott Weems and Irma Mott Jones, both of West Monroe; nine grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were: Roy David Jones, Charles Dykes, Bobbie Graham, Randy Hatten, Chet Traylor, and Leslie Harvey.

Honorary pallbearers were: Sonny Dyer, Bob Dyer, Bob Lee, and Billy Cy Frazier.
