Mrs. Frances Jane Rolen Buried At New Hope Aug. 2
Funeral services for Mrs. Frances Jane Rolen, 95, of Winnsboro, who died
Tuesday in a Monroe hospital after several weeks illness were held Wednesday
at 3:30 p.m. at the New Hope Methodist Church, Gaars Mill. Burial was in the
church cemetery.
Mrs. Rolen, the former Miss Emmons, of near Sikes, was a native of this
parish.
Surviving are four daughters, Mrs. Lizzie Lee of Columbia, Mrs. Bertha Bratton
of Monroe, Mrs. Belle Buchan of Jonesboro, and Mrs. Aretha Warner of
Winnsboro; four sons, Henry S. Rolen of Winnsboro, Robert Rolen of Seagraves,
Texas, John Rolen of Many, and George Rolen of Morrow; 47 grandchildren, 97
great grandchildren, and 21 great great grandchildren.
Among the grandchildren surviving are Mrs. J. C. Austin, Mrs. Owen Shaw, Mrs.
Walter Johns, and Mrs. Ivy Rolen of Winnfield; and Mrs. Herschell Shaw of
Shreveport.
