Jane Gleason Turnipseed

Jane Gleason Turnipseed, age 83, died April 5, 2001 in Salt Lake City, Utah where she lived with her daughter.

She was born to Edwin Roland Gleason and Elizabeth Richardson Gleason in Evergreen, LA Dec 17, 1917. Jane married Brown George Turnipseed of Liberty, MS Dec 19, 1942 and they made their home in Baton Rouge, LA. There they raised three children, George Turnipseed, Trumbull, CT, Bill Turnipseed, Auburn, CA, and Betty Moore, Salt Lake City, UT.

Survivors include her brother; B.L. Metayer, Sequim, WA; three children; and nine grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, E.R. Gleason; and sister, Elsie Mullendore.

The family will receive friends Mon. 6-8 p.m. at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 W. 4100 S. A memorial service will be held at her church, Holladay Baptist, Tues. April 10, 2001, 11 a.m. with interment following at Valley View Memorial Park. Directors: Valley View Funeral Home.
