Janice H. Maitland
Janice H. Maitland, 64, of Independence, Mo., passed away Monday, October 17, 2005, at her residence surrounded by her family and friends.
Mrs. Maitland was born June 3, 1941, in Kennett, Mo. She attended William Chrisman High School and was a graduate of Penn Valley School of Nursing. She worked for 16 years as an RN at Independence Regional Hospital in the OB Department. She was a member of Church of Jesus Christ Outreach Restoration Branch in Independence. She loved music and playing the piano and she sang in the Independence Messiah Choir and with the Rainbow Singers.
She was preceded in death by her parents Kenneth and Katie Spencer and a brother Charles Branch.
Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Arthur Maitland; three daughters, Terri Wilson of Independence, Janet Price of Blue Springs and Jennifer Jones of Independence; one son, Les Maitland of Independence; ten grandchildren, Jeremy Derek and Katie Wilson, Lesley and Ashley Price, Brantley, Devin and Gavan Maitland, Jackie and Beth Jones; one great-grandson, Quintin Wilson; four sisters Lydia Slay, Sue Smith, Carroll Rash and Judy Rancour; and one brother Drew Branche.
The family would like to say a special thanks to Dr. David Hof of St. Luke's Medical Center for his loving care over the years.
Graveside services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, October 20, 2005, at Mound Grove Cemetery, Independence, Mo.
Memorial donations may be made to the American Heart & Lung Association in Janice's name.
