Donna Bailey wrote GenForum September 13 1998: ``I know he doesn't belong to Richard and Cornelius and I know he belongs to a different family than Grief. It would narrow things down a bit to know where he was born. I tend to think he was a descendent of the Francis who married Martha Freeman in 1743, but that's just a hunch. I believe his father's name was Francis, because he and Bartholomew administered the will of a Francis Whittington in the 1780s.''
Parents: Francis? Whittington and Martha Freeman.
Spouse: Mary ``Polly'' Rhodes. Jarrett Whittington and Mary ``Polly'' Rhodes were married in March 1798 in Hancock county, Georgia.
