J. Lee, 65, Benson, Dies

Rites Held At Banners Chapel

Funeral for J. Lee, 65, of Benson was conducted at Banners Chapel Church near Benson Thursday at 3:30 p.m. by Rev. H. W. Duke of Benson, pastor of the church, and Rev. J. L. Stancil of Wendell. Interment was in the church cemetery.

Mr. Lee died late Tuesday afternoon at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Dewitt Byrd of Route 1, Wendell, following a lingering illness. He was the son of the late Josiah and Rebecca Lee and a lifelong resident of the Benson community.

Surviving are one son, Milton (Pete) Lee of Route 2, Benson; two daughters, Mrs. Dewitt Byrd of Route 1, Wendell, and Mrs. Johnnie Harris of Benson; two sisters, Mrs. J. H. Wheeler of Washington, D. C., and Mrs. Vennie Woodall of Route 2, Benson; one brother, Harry Lee of Coats, and five grandchildren.
