Jay W. Mullican

Jay Wilbur Mullican, 49, of Keymar, Md., died Thursday, April 15 due to an automobile accident.

Born Feb. 21, 1950, he was a son of Mrs. Truth N. Buffington of Union Bridge, Md. and the late Percy Ray Mullican. He was married to E. Delores Mullican for 18 years.

Mr. Mullican was a salesman for Crouse Ford of Taneytown, Md., for many years. He was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict, having served in the U.S. Marine Corps. Mr. Mullican was a member of Hesson-Snider Post 120 of the American Legion in Taneytown, Md.; a past post commander of the VFW Post 8806, Union Bridge, Md.; and a lifetime member of Monocracy Valley VFW Post 6918, Harney, Md.

Surviving in addition to his wife and mother are his step-father, Ralph E. Buffington of Union Bridge, Md.; two step-daughters, Sandra Evans of Atlanta, Ga. and Teresa "Tess" Nichols of Union Bridge, Md., one granddaughter; two brothers, Ottis Ray Mullican of Union Bridge, Md. and Gay Jerome Mullican of Elk Horn, Ky.; one sister, Kay Thompson of York Springs, and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, April 19 at the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 38 W. Baltimore St., Taneytown, Md., with the Rev. Richard L. Michael and Rev. John S. Douglas officiating. Interment will be in the Pipe Creek Cemetery, near Uniontown, Md.

The family will receive friends Sunday, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Skiles Funeral Home, 136 E. Baltimore St., Taneytown, Md.
