Jean Mixon Peters
(July 3, 1927 - November 30, 2007)

Mrs. Jean (Mixon) Peters, age 80, of Winnfield, La., passed away Friday, November 30, 2007, at the Winnfield Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Winnfield. Mrs. Peters was also a member of Pine Ridge Country Club where she enjoyed golfing.

She was the daughter of the late James Claude Mixon and the late Jewel (Jones) Mixon. Mrs. Peters was also preceded in death by her husband, John; her son, Tommy Bradford; and her sister, Joy Conlay.

She is survived by her

One Daughter, Kim Bankston and husband Lyn of Winnfield, La.;

Two granddaughters, Brittney and Caitlin Bankston of Winnfield, La.;

Three Sisters, Lanell Hoob of Winnfield, La.; Patsy Martin and husband Thomas Jerry of Winnfield, La.; Sheryl Wilemon and husband Bill of Scottsdale, Ariz.;

Two Brothers, J. C. Mixon and wife Liz of Metairie, La.; Troy Mixon and wife Jeanne of Metairie, La.;

Brother-in-law, Gordon Peters of Winnfield, La.;

Numerous Nieces and Nephews.

Services are under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield, La., where the family will receive friends from 3:30 PM to 6:00 PM Sunday, December 2, 2007 and from 8:00 AM to 9:30 AM Monday, December 3, 2007. Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church of Winnfield at 10:00 AM Monday, December 3, 2007 with Dr. Jerald McBride officiating. Interment will be at Garden Of Memories Cemetery in Winnfield, La.

Tommy Bankston, Thomas Jerry Martin, Greg Martin, Jed Martin, Don Price, William Price, and Ron Frazier will serve as pallbearers.

The family asks that memorials be made to the First Baptist Church of Winnfield Building Fund and/or the American Cancer Society.
