JEANNINE M. DIXON
Funeral services were held Saturday, June 5, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at Hebron Baptist Church near Liberty for Jeannine Dixon, 81, a longtime resident of Liberty. Rev. Cletus Moak and Dr. Randy Rich officiated. Burial was in Liberty Cemetery, with Brown Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Dixon passed away Thursday, June 3, 2010, at Baton Rouge General Medical Center in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
Born November 17, 1928, in the Hebron Community, Mrs. Dixon was the daughter of Earl and Nina Anders Marsalis, both deceased.
Mrs. Dixon worked at the Amite County Health Department as the office manager. She was a member of Liberty Baptist Church and Hebron Baptist Church, where she was the WMU treasurer. She was the church organist for sixty-two years.
Mrs. Dixon was an activve member of the Charles Carrol Chapter, Order of the Eastern Star No. 77, PWM and treasurer.
Mrs. Dixon was active in the Amite County Historical and Genealogical Society. She was Farm Bureau Women's Chairman for twenty-four years.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Dixon was preceded in death by two siblings, Vernon Lee Marsalis and Mary Earle Holoman.
Mrs. Dixon is survived by her husband of sixty-four years, Flynn W. Dixon of Liberty; three sons and daughters-in-law, Jim and Sharon Dixon of Slidell, Louisiana, Church and ZhangBei Dixon of Dutchtown, Louisiana, and Carroll Lee and Bobbie Dixon of Central, Louisiana; one daughter and son-in-law, Melinda and Randy Rich of Diamondhead; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; three cousins, Jodi Mae Clower, Wilda Butler and Linda Albritton; one brother, Carroll Marsalis and wife Betty Jo; three nephews and one niece.
