JEFFERSON F. NELSON, 72, a retired dealer in retail lumber who lived at 4347 Dartmouth Avenue North, died yesterday in a local hospital.

Mr. Nelson was a member of the Hopewell Baptist Church in Hanceville, Ala., and came here eight years ago from Birmingham.

Survivors include his wife, Flora M., here; two brothers, Gilbert and Elbert, both of Birmingham, and three sisters, Mrs. Aurelia McCabe, of Birmingham, Mrs. Tennyson Brooks, of Hanceville, and Mrs. Arch Markland, of Cullman, Ala.

Walter J. McBath Funeral Home will announce arrangements.
