A beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, she passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at 8:35 p.m. Wednesday, March 7, 2001.
She was born Sept. 14, 1912, in Amite County, Miss., and was a resident of Baton Rouge. Visiting at Hollabaugh Spindle Funeral Home, 1553 Wooddale Blvd., from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday and after 8:30 a.m. Saturday. Religious services in the funeral home chapel at 11 a.m. Saturday. Burial in Resthaven Gardens of Memory.
Survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Nettles and Billy R. Zachary Sr., Baton Rouge; a son, Charles L. Nettles, Baton Rouge; a daughter-in-law, Shirley Nettles; five grandchildren, Billy R. Zachary Jr. and wife Karen, Jennifer Z. Capron and husband Don, Bret W. Zachary and wife Lorrie, Darlene Z. Amime and husband John, and Brian D. Zachary and wife Missy; 11 great-grandchildren, Bill III, Brandi, Paul, Heath, Bret Jr., Crystal, John, Ashley, Rachel Lynn, Sarah and Jade; a great-great-grandchild, Kalee; a sister, Margie Bellue, Baton Rouge; and a brother, Clinton Whittington, Gloster, Miss.
Preceded in death by her husband, John E. Nettles; and a son, H. Cassie Nettles.
Pallbearers will be Billy Zachary Jr., Billy Zachary III, Bret Zachary, Bret Zachary Jr., Heath Rushing and John Aime. Honorary pallbearers are Don Capron and Paul Rushing.
