Mrs. Jerline Sarah Creel Jordan, age 86 of Dodson, Louisiana passed away on Wednesday, March 13, 2019.

Born Sunday, November 20, 1932 in Joyce, Louisiana, she was preceded in death by her parents, Gerusha Cockerham Creel and Frank Creel; her husband, John Jordan; infant daughter, Julie Ann Jordan; and brothers, Aaron, Dewey, Silas, Ivy, John, Cortez, Hezzie and Julian Creel; sisters, Ruby Rajcan and Myrtle Gregory.

Mrs. Jordan was a member of Welcome Home Baptist Church. She, along with her husband, owned and operated Jordan Egg Farm for 50 years.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Cindy Shields (Joe), Dodson, LA; son, Jason Jordan (Sarah), Dodson, LA; grandchildren, Caleb Shields, Rachel Shields and fiancé James, Sarah Murphy (Jacob), Julie Jordan, and Jonathan Jordan; and great grandson, Walt W. Murphy.

Words are not enough to convey the integrity and godliness with which Jerline lived. As a wife, she was truly a Biblical helpmate, lovingly devoted to her husband and supportive of all his endeavors, working right alongside him to successfully reach their goals. As a mother and grandmother, she tenderly cared for her family, freely sharing words of encouragement, kindness, and wisdom. As a Christian, she was faithful in daily Bible study, having read through the Bible numerous times, and she prayed unceasingly, seeking the Lord’s wisdom and surrendering to His will. She loved her church and church family and happily attended services every time she was able. By humbly desiring only to serve the Lord and to share His love, she became a role model and an inspiration for all of us. She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 16, 2019, at Welcome Home Baptist Church, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM, and again on Sunday, March 17, 2019, at Welcome Home Baptist Church, from 11:00 AM until time of services.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM on Sunday, March 17, 2019 at Welcome Home Baptist Church with the Reverends Robert Leach, Craig James, and Mitchell Miles officiating. Interment will follow at Old Union Cemetery in Joyce, under the direction of Southern Funeral Home of Winnfield..

Serving the family as pallbearers will be Jacob Murphy, Ryan Jordan, Royce Jordan, James Wooten, Jimmy Johnson, and Ricky Barber. Honorary pallbearers will be Randolph Creel, Thomas Latham, Kirk Miles, Caleb Shields, Vernon Carpenter, and Jonathan Jordan.
