Jerry Eugene Wall
February 6, 1933 - March 6, 2014

WALL, JERRY EUGENE was born February 6, 1933 in Chattanooga, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence A. Wall and Louise Bailey Wall. Jerry is survived by his wife Joyce; sons, Douglas Wall and wife Susan, David Wall and wife Teresa. Step-daughters; Cynthia Nelson and husband Rob, Holly Risser and husband David; Grand children; Renee, Amanda, Kendall, Kamryn, Kori, Courtney, Rachel, Noah, Andrew and Great Granddaughter Cassidy.

Jerry grew up in Tuscaloosa, AL and entered the University of Alabama in 1951. Jerry's pursuit of a degree in engineering was interrupted by the Korean War. He joined the Army Airborne Unit as a paratrooper. He was a part of the unit from 1952-1954.

In 1958 he went to work for Gulf States Paper in Demopolis, AL. While living in Demopolis, he was involved in the Kiwanis Club, where he served as President. He was a member of the Hospital Board for 15 years, and an active member of First Christian Church. Jerry retired from Gulf States after 38 years.

In 1985 Jerry rekindled a relationship with Joyce Tidwell. Jerry and Joyce had dated while they were both living in Tuscaloosa in 1954. They were married in 1986 in front of their family and friends.

Jerry's hobbies were many, he loved working in his shop, building things for his loved ones and tinkering with his collection of tools. He had a passion for gardening, but his favorite past time was watching the Alabama Crimson Tide play football.

Foremost, Jerry was a godly man who loved the Lord, his family, and his church. During his years at First Baptist Richardson, he served as a deacon, on the building committee, and was an active member of the Goldenaires Choir.

Jerry will be remembered for his sweet spirit and his special smile.

Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Monday, March 10, 2014 at Restland Funeral Home. Services will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at First Baptist Church of Richardson.
