JERRY EVERETT BRIDGES

Funeral services for Jerry Everett Bridges, 55, of Leesville, will be held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, September 22 at the Labby Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Leesville with Rev. Buddy Airhart and Kenneth Baggs officiating. The burial will follow in the Prewitt's Chapel Cemetery in Hornbeck. Friends may visit Monday, September 21 from 6 p.m. until 10 pm and then Tuesday, September 22, from 8 am until service time in the funeral home.

Jerry was born at Fort Polk, November 10, 1953 and passed away September 19, 2009 at V.A. Hospital in Alexandria following a lengthy illness.

He grew up in Hornbeck where he graduated in 1972. He served his country in the Navy from 1975 to 1979. He was an avid hunter and outdoorsman.

He was preceded in death by his father, Oden E. Bridges and Grandmother Aletha Savell Dew.

He is survived by his mother, Bessie Brown Stephens of Leesville; daughter, Jennifer Archer and husband Robert of Kalispell, Montana; brothers, Walter (Butch) Bridges of Hornbeck; Danny Bridges of Hornbeck, Everett Bridges and wife Paula of Anacoco, Albert Bridges and wife Maritza of Slidell, William Bridges of San Diego, CA; sisters, Roseanna Cardenas and husband Luis of Hornbeck, Dixie Fontenot of Moss Bluff, Dottie Rose of Melbourne, FL, Elisabeth Dillard and husband Kenneth of Anacoco and Toni Palestina and husband Frank of New Orleans; two grandsons and one granddaughter; five nephews and five nieces.
