Jerry Folden

A graveside service for Jerry Folden, 68, of Tyler, will be held on Thursday, Dec. 17, 2009, at 10 a.m. at Cathedral in the Pines Cemetery with the Rev. Mike Daniels officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of Stewart Family Funeral Home.

Mr. Folden passed away Dec. 14, 2009, at East Texas Medical Center Hospital in Tyler.

He was born Dec. 30, 1940, in Monroe, La., to Benjamin and Louise Riddle Folden.

Mr. Folden loved music and was a huge Elvis fan. He was self-employed, working in the floor covering industry until he was physically unable.

Mr. Folden was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Steve Folden; and sister Suzie Porter.

Jerry is survived by his loving family including his wife of 49 years, Scharlene Folden; sons, Brian Folden and wife D'Laine of Chandler, and Jeff Folden and wife Tina of Pittsburg; daughters, Diane Reed of Winona, and Jerrie Ann Elliot and husband Michael of Quinlan; sister, Vera McCoy and husband Marcus of Tyler; 11 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation is scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 16, 2009, at Stewart Family Funeral Home, 7525 Old Jacksonville Highway, Tyler, 75703.
