Jerry Ray Moffett
(August 25, 1938 - October 25, 2007)

Funeral services will be held Monday, October 29, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. in Melancon Funeral Home in Arnaudville for Jerry Ray Moffett, age 69, who passed away Thursday, October 25, 2007 at 8:15 p.m. at his residence in Cecilia, LA.

Interment will be in St. Francis Regis Cemetery in Arnaudville.

Mr. Moffett was a native of Atlanta, TX and had been a resident of Cecilia, LA for the past 38 years. He retired from United Gas Pipeline Company after 32 years of service. Mr. Moffett enjoyed hunting, fishing, and traveling. He was a veteran of the military, having served in the U.S. National Guard.

Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Johnnie Wilkens Moffett of Cecilia; one son, Randy E. Moffett and his wife, Catina, of Cecilia; two daughters, Dorothy Foster of Athens, TX and Rhonda K. Latiolais and her husband, Michael, of Arnaudville; one step-daughter, Brenda S. Wilkens of Anniston, AL; five grandchildren, Derek Latiolais, Cody Latiolais, Kayla Moffett, Samuel Moffett, and Brian Wilson; two great grandchildren; his mother, Dorothy Louise Boyer Moffett of Monroe, LA; two brothers, Travis M. Franklin and his wife, Shoney, of MerRouge, LA and Jack S. Moffett of Marshall, TX; and one sister, Phyllis Crain and her husband, Dennis of Monroe, LA.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Sherwood Moffett, Jr.

The family requests that visiting hours be observed from 9:00 a.m. until 10:00 p.m. Sunday and will continue from 8:00 a.m. until service time on Monday.

Pallbearers will be Randy Moffett, Jack Moffett, Michael Shane Latiolais, Derek Latiolais, Dennis Crain, and Brian Landry.
