Jesse James Savell Jr., 69, of Colton died Wednesday at home. The cause of death is unknown, pending a doctor's report.

Savell, a native of Start, La., lived in Colton 49 years.

He was a self-employed general contractor for 35 years.

Survivors include his wife, Georgia Jeanette; four sons, Kenny James of Yuma, Ariz., Richard Neal and Jesse James III, both of Colton, and Alan Warren of Riverside; four daughters, Linda Lou Speak and Judy Diane Barnes, both of Colton, Lisa Jeanette of San Francisco, and Patti Lynn Foulk of Rialto; his brother, Las, and his sister, Joyce Strickland, both of Memphis, Tenn.; and 12 grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday with chapel service at 10 a.m. Monday, both at Colton Funeral Chapel, 1275 N. La Cadena Drive, Colton. Burial will be at Hermosa Memorial Gardens, 900 N. Meridian Ave., Colton.
