Jesse M. McDaniel

Jesse M. McDaniel, a Dundalk resident for 62 years, died Dec. 21 at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. He was 85 years old.

Born and raised in Calhoun, La., Mr. McDaniel served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

He retired with 40 years of service as a machinist for Bethlehem Steel's Sparrows Point Shipyard and served as treasurer of the Sparrows Point Shipyard Retirees Association. He enjoyed woodworking during his retirement years.

Mr. McDaniel belonged to Patapsco United Methodist Church for 62 years.

He also held membership in Dundalk VFW Post 6694 and Patapsco Masonic Lodge 183, Boumi Temple and Scottish Rite.

In addition to his wife of 63 years, Florene (nee Jordan), he is survived by son Jerry McDaniel of Dundalk, daughter Lynn Wilson of Joppa, brothers Gerald and Irvin McDaniel of Louisiana and Louis McDaniel of Texas, sister Ovie Clack, also of Louisiana, three granddaughters and eight great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by a son, Donald J. McDaniel.

Services conducted by The Rev. Frederick Walz, pastor of Patapsco United Methodist Church, were scheduled for Wednesday, Dec. 24, at 11 a.m. at Connelly Funeral Home, 7110 Sollers Point Road.

Visitation at the funeral home was scheduled for Tuesday, Dec. 23, from 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
