JESSE SPEER

Jesse Speer, 78, of Victoria and formerly of Richmond, died Monday, April 26, 1999.

He was born Aug. 12, 1920, in Tinsman, Ark., to the late Jesse and Annie Myrtle Stough Speer. He was a retired gauger for the U.P.R. Cod. He was an U.S. Marine Corps veteran, serving during World War II. He attained the rank of staff sergeant. He was Episcopalian.

Survivors: wife, Lucy Merle Harris Speer; daughters, Betty Biddle of Inez and Marjorie Rychlik of Richmond; sons, Michael Speer of Placedo and Church Speer of Lolita; sister, Mildred Engel of Rosenberg; eight grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Preceded in death by: stepfather, Forrest A. Wilson.

Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. today at Colonial Funeral Home chapel and at 1 p.m. Thursday at Davis Greenlawn Funeral Home chapel in Rosenberg.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home in Rosenburg.

Burial with military honors will be at Morten Cemetery in Richmond. Colonial Funeral Home, Victoria, 578-3535.
