Jess Slocum Elliott

Jess Slocum Elliott, 35, of 3217 Grand, a construction worker ... was hit by a car on Lamar near Young.

Came to Dallas in 1925

Elliott, who was killed when he was hit by a car at Lamar and Young driven by Mrs. C. D. Sumrall Jr. of 3127 McKinney, will be buried at 2 p.m. Monday in Grove Hill Cemetery. Funeral services probably will be held at the home of a sister, Mrs. R. E. Blair, 3217 Grand.

Born in Mississippi, he came to Dallas in 1925 to give up a life of farming and enter the construction business, in which he was engaged at the time of his death.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Thelma Elliott; two brothers, H. W. Elliott of Marshall and J. R. Elliott of Dallas; four sisters, Mrs. R. E. Blair and Mrs. Herbert Logan of Dallas, Mrs. W. W. Slane of Euless, Tarrant County, and Mrs. T. J. Hensley of Marshall; his mother, Mrs. Geneva Elliott of Dallas, and a daughter, Adaila Ann Elliott.
