Jessie Crain

The funeral of Jesse Crain, 83, of West Monroe Guest House, formerly of Sikes, were [sic was] held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in the Old Hebron Baptist Church near Sikes with Rev. Lavelle Crain officiating.

Burial was in the church cemetery under the direction of Riser and Son Funeral Home of Columbia.

Mr. Crain died Tuesday morning in the Glenwood Hospital in West Monroe after a lengthy illness.

He was a native of Sikes and a World War I veteran.

Survivors include six sons, J. R. Crain of Rocky Branch, Lindon Crain and Jerry Crain, both of West Monroe, DeVain Crain of Monroe, Sam Crain of Olla and Julian Crain of Grayson; five sisters, Mrs. Leona Maddox of Lake Charles, Mrs. Nola McCarty and Mrs. Nancy Brown, both of Sikes, Mrs. Alma McCartney of Trout and Mrs. Lee Bell Elliott of Olla; 15 grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
