Jessie Beatrice Keene
Services for Jessie Beatrice Keene, 75, of Lufkin, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday in the Gipson-Metcalf Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Billy Jackson officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
Mrs. Keene was born January 4, 1927, in Jena, Louisiana, the daughter of Myra (Beavers) and Bill Lofton, and she died Saturday, November 16, 2002, at her residence.
Mrs. Keene resided in Lufkin since 1954. In addition to being a homemaker, she was a beautician at the Village Cutting Room.
Survivors include her son and his wife, Curtis and Rhonda Keene of Lufkin; son, Mike Keene of Lufkin; grandson, Jamie Keene of Lufkin; grandson, Ethan Blake Strawn of Lufkin; great-granddaughters, Hailey Cheyenne Keene and Crystal Huggins; special niece and nephew, Brenda and Dale Taylor of Lufkin; special great-niece, Teresa Alexander, of Alexandria, Louisiana; sisters, Nell Cotton of Tioga, Louisiana, Hattie Sanson of Lufkin, and Martha Clements of Dallas; brothers, Tom Lofton, Alvin Lofton, both of Houston, and Calvin Lofton of Lufkin; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Keene was preceded in death by her husband, Cecil Keene on September 4, 1979.
Pallbearers will be Robert Alexander, James Seaton, Don Wier, Arley Bewley, Eden Cortez and George Taylor.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 4000 South Medford, Lufkin, Texas 75901.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 Monday evening at the Gipson-Metcalf Funeral Home.
The family would like to send a special thanks to Dr. Ahmad, Dr. Pinnamaneni, Shohreh Wise and everyone else who assisted in making her life more memorable.
