Jessie D. Dodson

FOREST -- Jessie Douglas Dodson, 78, of the Harperville community north of Forest, died Saturday at his home. Services are 2 p.m. today at Ott & Lee Funeral Home chapel with burial in Harperville Cemetery.

Mr. Dodson was a lifelong resident of the Harperville community. He was a member of Harperville Baptist Church, where he had served as deacon for the past 30 years.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lois Dodson; sons, Bill Dodson of Harperville and James Dodson of Long Beach; daughters, Mrs. Jean Barfield of Long Beach and Mrs. Joe Rogers of Jackson; brothers, R.M. Dodson of Waveland, Marion Dodson of Jackson and Minor Allen of Walnut Grove; sisters, Mrs. Fern Reeves of Houston, Texas, and Mrs. Lottie Sones of Walnut Grove; and five grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
